In its second meeting edition, UROonco24 is set to take place in Budapest, Hungary, from Thursday, 20 June to Saturday, 22 June 2024, continuing on its mission to advance the management and treatment of genitourinary cancers via information-exchange between onco-urology groups.
Organised under the guidance of the EAU Section of Oncological Urology (ESOU), this meeting will provide you with crucial updates on genitourinary cancers, featuring significant trial updates from recent international urology meetings, rapid-fire debates, interactive roundtable sessions, hands-on training, and guidelines updates. Notably, this year there is the introduction of delegate voting during some sessions to enhance participation, as well as more panel discussions in the scientific programme.
What’s on the agenda?
Thursday, 20 June
Due to popular demand, the meeting will start on Thursday, at 14:00 CEST with an afternoon of Plenary Sessions featuring rapid-fire debates and state-of-the-art lectures on common problems in prostate cancer, as well as new trial updates and case discussions in urothelial and bladder cancer. The STEPS programme (Session to Evaluate ProgresS) is an integral part of the UROonco24 learning platform for young urologists, and will also take place on Thursday, 20 June. See more details below.
Friday, 21 June
In addition to Plenary Sessions on prostate cancer, bladder cancer, urothelial cancer, renal and penile cancer, the Update Sessions will also be a highlight. This year, these interactive roundtable sessions will address each cancer type separately with their own individual session (prostate cancer, bladder cancer and kidney cancer). Up to two cases will be presented for each topic. These discussions serve as a platform for participants to gain valuable insights into advancements and new technologies in each field of genitourinary cancers.
Saturday, 22 June
The ‘Real World Urology’ session will involve the Eastern European national societies and associations, covering topics such as prostate cancer screening, high-risk prostate cancer management, and oligometastatic prostate cancer management. Plenary Sessions will feature international trial updates in urothelial and bladder cancer, as well as advanced and metastatic renal cancer. The prostate cancer Plenary Session includes a debate about de-escalation strategies in metastatic HSPC and a case discussion on “Progression to metastatic HSPC after ADT + docetaxel + ARPI: How to treat,” before the meeting concludes at 15:15 CEST.

STEPS Programme – High level opportunities for young urologists
This is a unique opportunity for young clinicians to have direct interaction with the ESOU Board and high-level experts, whereby they participate in expert-led case discussions on the management of urological cancers in a stimulating roundtable environment. Successful candidates of the STEPS programme will also have a chance to present at the 2025 UROonco meeting. This year a winner will be selected from each of the four roundtables and invited as faculty in the 2025 programme. The application deadline is 21 April 2024 (23:59 CEST). See more information.
